Look what I came across...

While reading the newest edition of Seventeen Magazine poolside, I came across many interesting things that were featured in the magazine and I'm happy to share the pictures with you:

1. The Mark Marbled Eyeliners ($10)

2. Ashley Greene's love of the Mark lip gloss ($7)

3. Mark Highlighter ($6)

4. BLAIR FOWLER featured showing the readers how to get her look.

Tell me, have you read the most recent Seventeen Magazine? What do you think? I've already started marking it up with post its for pages that I want to do Youtube videos / blog posts on.  Thanks for reading!

College Checklist (so far)

Because my blog is called COLLEGE Kristen and I have basically yet to do a whole post about college, here you go.  As soon as I found out where I wanted to go to college I excitedly submitted my deposit (a nice 4 days before it was due).  Then I thought to myself, NOW WHAT?!  I had no idea where to begin! Do I sign up for classes?  Try to find a roommate?  Wait, what about orientation?? Taking a deep breath, I checked my email and the school luckily sent me a list of what to do.  (They know me too well)

I was given an email address and a password so I logged onto the website and opened my new email account. Ahh, it felt so good.  I browsed the website, checked out the school bookstore, and basically stalked my college.  Then I got another email that said I had to take my math and spanish placement tests.  WHAT?! Have no fear, these tests aren't graded and are just to see what class you should be in.  The math test was in two parts and each part was 30 minutes long.  I just took the first part and it was Basic Algebra so it was so easy.  I'll probably take the second math part and the spanish test tomorrow.

Next: orientation.  I had gotten a few papers in the mail about how to sign up for orientation but I just filed them away in my "I'll look at these later" folder.  My parents and I reviewed all of the summer orientation dates and we decided that the first orientation, in late June, works best for all of us.  I clicked away and, BAM, I was signed up.

What does that leave left? Oh yeah, a roommate.  I have heard horror stories and I have heard miraculous stories.  I, however, just prayed that my roommate would be someone I could at least tolerate.  And hey, I'm a pretty easy-going person who doesn't get mad a lot and gets along with pretty much everyone, so I thought it would be smooth sailing for me.  Nevertheless, I still opened an account on RoomSurf.com (per recommendation of friends) and took the survey.  A lot of matches came up and I pretty much judged everyone by their picture (let's face it, who doesn't?).  After a moment of realization, however, I decided that I wanted to do random roommate.  After all, I believe that everything happens for a reason.

I'll definitely keep you guys updated on my new "college life" and be sure to look for posts / videos about college dorm hauls and such.  Thanks for reading!

Cupcake Tuesday

In honor of our AP Physics class being DONE, my classmates and I are baking our little hearts out for class tomorrow.  What did I bake?  My world-famous (okay, this is only the 2nd one I've made) GIANT CUPCAKE!  I got this huge cupcake thing at AC Moore a couple of months ago and thought it was about time to whip it out again.

So when I got home from school today I immediately got out the vanilla and chocolate batter and baked two mixes.  The vanilla was for the top half of the cupcake and the chocolate was for the bottom.  After pouring the batters in the molds, I had a little vanilla left over so I poured half into one bowl and kept half in the original bowl.  Then I dropped a few drops of blue food dye in one and a few drops of green food dye in the other.  I poured the blue batter in the cupcake holders first then the green batter on top and BAM!  I made a half blue half green cupcake!!

My huge cupcake turned out really well too and I decorated the top with vanilla icing and cool sprinkles.  Check out some pics!!
